Multibore tubing in sizes up to 0.250 outside diameter can be produced with bores ranging from 5 to 100 micrometers. Hundreds of accurate holes can be incorporated in this tubing to make the subsequent watered discs suitable for use in the ultra-filtration of bacterial micro-organisms or dust particles for microscopic counting or identification.
This tubing is also used for thermocouples, electrochemical probes, and other insulating applications. Multibore tubing is available in Simax 33 expansion borosilicate and Heraeus Quartz, 0.125 maximum outside diameter on quartz.
